Creeds on ceremonial weapons
Exhibition of the Dresden State Art Collections in Torgau
One year before the great National Special Exhibition in Torgau, the world of the Reformation comes alive on Schloss Hartenfels Castle, the former residence castle of Saxony electors. The deeply religious world of the 16th century is illustrated by means of extraordinary pieces of art. The ceremonial weapons of the Saxon electors were not only a symbol of worldly sovereignty but also a commitment to the Reformation and a clear statement in terms of the religious war of that time.
